The Board of Directors ensures the management of the association, consisting of a president and two members, who exercise mandates with a duration of four years, eventually renewable, approved in the General Assembly.

Skills
- prepare and submit the proposed strategic plan for approval by the General Assembly
- monitor the implementation of the statute, rules and other applicable practices, as well as ongoing activity
- prepare and submit in time for approval by the General Assembly the proposals for the plan of activities and budget and the report of activities and accounts for each fiscal year, accompanied by the opinion of the Audit Committee
- ensure the protection of name use and intellectual property rights
- decide on the exploitation of research results and on procedures for the protection of intellectual property rights
- acquire, manage and dispose of assets
- propose to the General Meeting, for approval, the constitution of the Audit Committee
- approve the internal organization
- hire and fire employees
- enter into contracts, protocols and agreements with third parties and perform all acts necessary for their execution
- constitute proxies
- deliberate on affiliation, membership or participation in other organizations
- decide on the admission of associate members, as well as the termination of that status
- accept donations, inheritances or legacies
- propose new effective members to the General Assembly
- represent LIS-Water in any acts and contracts
- chair the meetings of the Board of Directors
- ensure liaison with the other governing bodies
