LIS-Water distinguished with one of the PT Global Water Awards 2023

LIS-Water was distinguished with the PT Global Water Awards 2023, in recognition of the work carried out in the RegWAS LAC project to improve public policies and regulation of water services in Latin America and the Caribbean, which has already benefited 47 regulators from 20 countries.

The jury members distinguished the RegWAS LAC project in the area of service provision, highlighting that the program aims to reinforce the framework and practice of public policies and regulation of water and sanitation services in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is a collaborative program that brings together governments, regulators and authorities with regulatory functions, having been mentioned by the Inter-American Development Bank that it is the largest project to regulate water services developed at the bank.

It was with great pride that LIS-Water’s strategic advisor, Jaime Baptista, took to the stage to receive the award and certificate, presented by the general director of the About Media Group, João Belo. Jaime Baptista thanked the jury for the distinction and in particular the LIS-Water team, regretting the absence of director Rita Amaral, to whom he extended special thanks for her commitment to the RegWAS LAC project.

The PT Global Water Awards are a well-known event dedicated to recognize companies and entities that stand out in the internationalization of the Portuguese water sector and which has the support of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and AICEP – Agency for Investment and Commerce External of Portugal, being promoted jointly by the magazine Água&Ambiente and the Portuguese Water Partnership.
