This second semester is full of relevant events for water services professionals. Some of them are mentioned below, with an intense national and international program.
In Beijing, China, the XVIII World Water Congress will take place from September 11th to 15th, organized by the International Water Resources Association.
On September 20th, the Technical Conferences organized by the Technological Center for Environmental Management will take place in Coimbra under the theme “Strategy, Challenges and Opportunities for the Water Industry”. LIS-Water will speak as a speaker on the panel “Challenges and Opportunities for the Water Sector”.
In Matosinhos, during the ENERH2O – Energy and Water Innovation & Technology fair, which will take place on the 27th and 28th of September at Exponor, there will be a round table entitled “Water: what future?”, organized by APRH – Portuguese Water Resources Association. A keynote speaker and five guest speakers will participate, one of them being LIS-Water.
In Kampala, Uganda, the Eastern and Southern Africa Water and Sanitation (ESAWAS) network of regulators will organize, from October 2nd to 6th, the annual conference on the regulation of water and sanitation services in Africa. LIS-Water was invited to participate with the presentation of the RegWAS LAC project that it is developing in Latin America.
In De Harmonie, Leeuwarden, Netherlands, the Wetsus Congress 2023 will take place from October 9th to 10th, organized by the European Center of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology and focused on major water challenges.
The Portugal Smart Cities Summit will take place in Lisbon from October 10th to 12th, at FIL – Lisbon International Fair, Parque das Nações, organized by the AIP Foundation of the Portuguese Industrial Association. During this event, the Acqualive conference will take place, coordinated by LIS-Water and PPA – Portuguese Partnership for Water.
In São Paulo, Brazil, the Brazilian Association of Regulatory Agencies – ABAR will promote, from October 18th to 20th, the XIII Brazilian Regulation Congress and Expo/ABAR, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center. LIS-Water was invited to participate.
In Brasília, Brazil, the 2023 WCC Clorosur Water Forum will take place on October 17, 2023 with the theme “Water and Sanitation in Latin America – paths towards sustainability”, an event organized by the World Chlorine Council (WCC) and the Latin American Association of Industry of Chlor-Alkalis and Derivatives (Clorosur). LIS-Water was invited to present a lecture in the “Bloco Regulação” about its experience and lessons learned about public policies, regulation and management of water and sewage services.
In Cairo, Egypt, the Water Finance Investment Forum will take place from October 30th to 31st, jointly organized by the Union for the Mediterranean and the European Union, as part of Cairo Water Week (October 29th to November 2nd), under the theme “ Action on Water Adaptation for Sustainability”.
In Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, the Aquatech Innovation Forum will take place on November 6th, dedicated to the theme “Accelerating agility in water”. LIS-Water is one of the event’s knowledge partners and will speak in the opening panel discussion.
In Bilbao, Spain, the Digital Water Summit organized by the International Water Association (IWA) will take place from the 14th to the 16th of November. It is an opportunity for digital water experts and leaders to explore and share their experiences on digital solutions and how they are being applied to address current and future challenges in the water sector.
In Bragança, the 13th International Technical Waste Conference (JTIR) will take place from the 15th to the 18th of November, organized by APESB in conjunction with the Municipality of Bragança and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, which includes topics such as the reuse of wastewater.
In Lisbon, on the 23rd and 24th of November, the 18th Expo Conference on Water will take place, organized by Jornal Água&Ambiente. This conference will discuss short and medium term solutions for water scarcity, taking into account the increasingly frequent occurrence of periods of drought and the need to find short and medium term responses for the various affected regions, which allow look to the future with greater tranquility. LIS-Water will be one of the speakers with the theme “Specific challenges for downturn management entities, towards 2030”.
In Gondomar, the ENEG – National Meeting of Water and Sanitation Management Entities 2023, organized by APDA, will take place in the multipurpose pavilion from 27 to 30 November. This year is dedicated to the theme “A cry for water!”. LIS-Water will participate as a speaker in the round table on the theme “The balance of current underfinancing in the sector – How, with whom and with what?”.
In Lima, Peru, the XV Ibero-American Regulation Forum will take place on the 29th and 30th of November, organized by the Association of Drinking Water and Sanitation Regulatory Entities of the Americas (ADERASA). LIS-Water was invited to participate.
In Kigali, Rwanda, the next edition of the International Water Association’s Water and Development Congress & Exhibition will take place from December 10th to 14th.

Together with its partners, the association intends to make available and produce the best and most up-to-date knowledge at an international level and to transfer it continuously to decision-makers, water professionals, industry and society.
In this way, we will make our contribution towards achieving the great goals of humanity regarding better water governance, for a better world.

The AdP Group is responsible for the integrated management of the urban water cycle, providing services to Municipalities, which are simultaneously shareholders of the companies managing multi-municipal systems, and directly serving the population through municipal water supply and sanitation systems.
