The International Water Regulators Forum (IWRF) is the international gathering of the International Water Association’s (IWA) global network of regulators. It brings together high-level representatives of regulatory authorities and officials from agencies with regulatory and oversight roles over the provision of water, sanitation and water management services.
It should be remembered that this forum was created on a Portuguese initiative when the 2014 World Water Congress was held in Lisbon, with around 5000 participants from a hundred countries. In parallel to the Congress, ERSAR organized the First World Forum of Water Services Regulators, which brought together more than 50 regulatory entities from around the world and contributed to the dissemination and harmonization of best regulatory practices. Since then it has been held regularly.
The 7th IWRF took place over two days, 14-15 September 2022, during the IWA World Water Congress (WWC&E) in Copenhagen, Denmark. Around 180 participants from different geographies participated in this year’s forum. The theme was “Regulation of Water Services in Times of Increasing Natural, Social and Economic Uncertainty”.
LIS-Water had an active participation in this 7th IWRF, through the intervention in a panel and the moderation of another panel.
The Results Report presents the minutes of the presentations and discussions of the 7th International Forum of Water Regulators. The report includes summaries of session observations. Access the report here.
