APdSE – Águas Públicas da Serra da Estrela are organizing the conference “The value of water: between knowing and doing”, which will be held on September 25, 2024, in the auditorium of CISE – Serra da Estrela Interpretation Centre, in Seia.
The motto of the conference, “The Value of Water: Between Knowing and Doing”, was born out of the need to move on from theoretical discussions to the implementation of concrete actions that ensure that water is valued and preserved. Despite the numerous conferences that have already been held on the subject, we can see that so far there has been a lack of answers and concrete plans to put the ideas and solutions discussed into practice. It is with this challenge in mind that we have organized this event, with the aim of finding clear and achievable objectives that can be implemented in the short and medium term.
The conversation will be led by Ricardo Campos, president of the Energy and Climate Forum, and will be attended by Vera Eiró, president of the Water and Waste Services Regulatory Authority, José Pimenta Machado, vice-president of the Portuguese Environment Association, Eduardo Anselmo de Castro, vice-president of the Centro Regional Coordination and Development Commission, and Cristina Oliveira, from the Centro Regional Directorate of Education. We also had representation from the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities.
The conference will be a privileged space for exchanging ideas and building a common agenda that transforms accumulated knowledge into concrete and effective actions.
Participation is free, but subject to registration via the link https://forms.office.com/e/5RS0xw1KnE
