The World Water Forum (WFWF) is organized every three years by the World Water Council and a host country. Indonesia will be the host country for the 2024 edition, which will take place in Bali between May 18 and 24. This Forum, like previous editions, will provide a unique moment for the water community and key decision-makers to share and exchange best practices on global water challenges. This edition is particularly important as it is the first to be held after the United Nations Water Conference 2023, which took place in New York last March and was a unique opportunity to increase the political attention, visibility and awareness of the international community on global water challenges around the world.
One of the main outcomes of the United Nations Water Conference was the Water Action Agenda, a set of voluntary commitments adopted by States and all stakeholders to accelerate the implementation of the objectives of the Decade of Action for Water 2018-2028 and the 2030 Agenda. Indonesia pledged to dedicate the 10th World Water Forum to presenting concrete results of the Water Action Agenda, as an extension of the Conference’s work.
